A gutter full of leaves doesn't overflow neatly over the front lip. It backs water up under the first row of tiles and into the eaves, and the first you know about it's a stain on the ceiling nowhere near the gutter.
Clearing them is the easy part. The part worth doing at the same time is checking the falls, because a gutter that doesn't run to the downpipe holds water permanently and rusts from the inside out. And checking the downpipes actually flow, which is where half the blockages really are.
If the roof is being coated, the gutters, fascia, barge and downpipes get done in the same visit and the same colour. It's the difference between a new roof and a new roofline.

How often should gutters be done?
Once a year on an open block, twice if you're under gums. Autumn is the one that matters most, before the winter rain.
Can you paint gutters a different colour to the roof?
You can, and sometimes it looks right on a heritage house. On most homes matching them to the roof is what makes the whole roofline read as one thing.
Do you install gutter guard?
Ask us on the call. We would rather tell you honestly what we do and don't take on than sell you something and subcontract it out.
